WHY THIS WATCH

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore, introduced in 1993, is a bold, sporty adaptation of the iconic Royal Oak watch. Designed by Emmanuel Gueit, it pushed the boundaries of luxury watchmaking with its oversized 42mm case, visible gasket, and rugged aesthetics, becoming a trendsetter and symbol of contemporary high-end timepieces.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 26170ST, a popular reference in the Offshore collection, debuted in the 2000s. Its 42mm stainless steel case, bold "Méga Tapisserie" dial, and chronograph complication make it a powerful timepiece. Aesthetically versatile, it comes in numerous dial colors and offers an integrated bracelet or rubber strap.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 26170ST stands out for its distinctive design, blending the iconic Royal Oak's octagonal bezel with a bold "Méga Tapisserie" dial and chronograph function. Its 42mm stainless steel case offers robustness and presence, while the variety of dial colors and strap options provide versatility for various styles.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 26170ST houses the Calibre 3126/3840, an automatic movement with 59 jewels and a 50-hour power reserve. This movement features AP's signature design, harmonious bridges, hand-finished components, an angular balance cock, a 22K gold rotor with family crests, ceramic ball bearings, a balance with 8 variable inertia blocks, and polished gear train components with gold-plated, patterned non-functional surfaces.

Being the bigger, beefier cousin of the traditional Royal Oak, this watch doesn't let you forget it's on your wrist. I really like white dial Royal Oaks, and this one's got a sporty side, with touches of red throughout. The bracelet on this watch is what AP has become known for supremely finished and supremely comfortable. With the market price of the traditional royal oak in the stratosphere, these offshores are becoming more desirable by the day.
